Ranking No.1 in MSN in Just 7 days

Today, many webmasters even experts believe that ranking high in a search engine takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. But is this true, it may be true to you but not to me!
“Getting a high search engine ranking is not an overnight game!” this is what I also used to believe that a lot of experts still do but very soon… EVERYTHING CHANGED.

This article is all about how I ranked no.1 in MSN in just 7days and how can you do this!
It was 8th,may 2006 when I first submitted my URL to some of the top search engines including Yahoo, Google and… MSN. On 10th, may 2006 I published my whole site and on 15th may I was shocked to see my website on 12the rank for economical search engine optimization and no.1 for economical search engine optimization firm in MSN search.

I was shocked because I had never thought that MSN will index my whole site in just 5 days and also will reward me top rankings in its listings. I thought that it would take at least 2 weeks to just get into its database but I think it was my optimized site which supported MSN to give it high rankings.

So, what I concluded from it was that my strategy for my website was absolutely correct. So, if it can work for me then why can’t it work for you.

So What Was My Strategy?
A Good keyword research – I performed a very good keyword research using Google and Overture’s Inventory tool. If you want to rank high you need to perform a good keyword research because if you are targeting a very competitive keyword and your site is new then you have no chance. Keyword research is what that will bring you targeted traffic so try to perform a good keyword research it’s useless to compete for highly competitive keywords just to get high amount of traffic. Don’t bother about the traffic they generate just target less competitive keywords and phrases where you have some chance to win the race. Remember slow and steady wins the race.

Keyword Density and Utilization – MSN gives a great importance to the keyword density of your page and also to the keyword density in the first 1000 characters used in your web page. Its better to use a density of 4-5%. This why I used my most important keywords at the top of each page which really supports my rankings in MSN. But always remember that stuffing will not give you rankings just be descriptive and focused to your content and you will rank according to what you deserve.

Keywords in Title: Title once again, now everyone of you would be knowing that Title is one of the most important ones so, it is strongly recommended that you use your important keywords in the Title tag first and keep the density in the title between 30-40% and always remember to be descriptive rather than filling it with keywords because natural is what that is favored by the search engines. Stuffing keywords in the Title like : SEO, SEO Firm, SEO Services, SEO India will not work except of stuffing you should prefer something like: SEO Firm India Providing Quality SEO Services

Keywords Used In Incoming Links To Your Site – Keywords used in incoming links to your site is the most important factor for your ranking. Use the same keywords in your links text that you use in Title, this is what which have boosted my rankings up the order if I remove the keywords from the incoming links then my rankings may drop again. So, the best thing to do when building links is that use your important keywords in the tag rather than using your company name. Example:

An Ordinary Link: Vistadivine – an economical search engine optimization firm.

A Good Link: Search Engine Optimization Firm – an economical search engine optimization firm in India.

To see a good example of fully optimized page visit my website http://www.vistadivine.com and take a close look at our source code just copy it and open it in an editor like Frontpage or Dreamweaver and you will see the difference. Take a close look at all the things we have used on our pages and try to use it on your website for your keywords.

But also remember don’t try to be oversmart or don’t do anything foolish with MSN, if you have some questions or have some doubt of what to do then just mail me at support@vistadivine.com and I will help you.

What is Flash Text Animation?
Flash text animation is exactly what it sounds like. On your web page, you turn plain text into text that is moving, full of colors and life. It looks even better than it sounds, trust me. Flash text animation is growing more and more popular, and graphic designers are finding that flash text animation gives web site a high-tech, glossy, more professional look.

Sure, you can have plain text on your site. But when your competition has flashing, animated, interesting text, viewers may like those sites better – which can be bad for business. In the world of the Internet, having page viewers is the key to success. You want people to come to your site, so you have to keep up with (and even outdo) the competition. Flash text animation is a great way to get your site looking professional, interesting, and lively.

How Flash Text Animation Can Help You
Flash text animation will make your site look more interesting graphically, giving it an overall well-done feel and professionalism. This will bring visitors back time and again, and help to draw in traffic for your site. The average Internet cruiser looks at twenty to forty different sites a day – having flash text animation on your site can help set you apart from the rest. You want visitors not only to come to your site, but also to remember your web site. This will bring in repeat visitors, which means more business for you and your site.

Flash text animation very simply looks good, and people want their web sites to look good. It makes your site a more lively and interesting piece of the Internet to visit, and will make you look like a professional web site designer. No one has to know how easy flash text animation can really be.

Flash Text Animation Programs
To be honest, designing your own flash text animation can be a very long and tedious process. You have to really know what you’re doing and go through a series of careful steps before you get any hint of animation to your text at all. Even very clever web site designers have trouble designing flash text animation.

And because it’s so hard, there are about a thousand programs you can get online to make the whole thing a lot easier. That’s one of the reasons the Internet is so great – it’s great for taking shortcuts. If carefully designing your text and spending hours and hours working with the bones of your web site doesn’t sound appealing, don’t worry – that doesn’t sound appealing to many people.

There are many free flash text animation programs that you can find online, and download for your own personal use. Using flash text animation programs is usually as simple as clicking some buttons and working your way through some pull-down menus. In a matter of minutes, you can add flash text animation to your site without a lot of hassle or even web site design. A simple search on the Internet will yield many different programs that you can try for free to create your own flash text animation.

Flash Text Animation
If it makes your site look better, if it’s easy to do, and if it means more traffic to your site, there’s no reason not to give it a try. Flash text animation will give your site a professional look that you and your visitors will enjoy.

Debt Secrets Credit Counseling Companies Don’t Want You To Know

free  Comments Off on Debt Secrets Credit Counseling Companies Don’t Want You To Know

Most people don’t know it, but a bad or shady debt reduction company can actually land you in a worse spot financially than you were in the beginning. In fact, in many cases filing bankruptcy is preferable to working with a credit counseling company. Given the amount of confusing information out there, it is critical that you arm yourself with the truth about these businesses.

WARNING: Credit Counseling Isn’t Always What It Appears

When you first start out, you go over all your debts with a counselor. They contact each of your creditors to lower your interest rates, which lower your payments. Together, you develop a strict budget. They hold you to this budget by asking for one lump payment from you each month, which they then use to pay your bills on your behalf.

Unfortunately, this sunny scenario hides the real truth. Yes, for a fee, credit counselors will ask your credit card companies to lower your interest rates—but you can do that yourself. Yes, for a fee, they will help you develop a budget—but you can do that yourself. Yes, for a fee, they will take one large payment from you each month and use it to pay some of your bills—but you can do that yourself, too. In fact, you can do it better.

When you’re in debt, the last thing you need is a credit counseling agency charging you high monthly fees for performing tasks that you can do yourself for free. Otherwise, any savings from lower interest rates is quickly lost in new fees for your credit counselor. Does that sound like good financial advice?

Driven By Client Successes, Or By Personal Profits?

Years ago, a small number of newly created credit counselors actually made a positive difference in the lives of their clients. Before the industry exploded, many credit card companies considered professional credit counselor to be a step in the right direction. Creditors were willing to lower interest rates and make other compromises to help customers in counseling to get back on track.

No longer. Sadly, today’s credit counseling companies exist to create profits for their owners—not to help customers get out of debt. In fact, some debt reduction companies are not actually dedicated to helping consumers with debt management plans at all; rather, they serve as fronts for bankruptcy attorneys or home equity mortgage brokers.

Don’t be misled into believing that a non-profit credit counselor is better than a for-profit one. In fact, recent federal investigations have revealed that many of these non-profit companies are actually owned by the same people who own their for-profit “competitors.”

The credit counseling industry is unregulated, meaning there is no set of central standards that companies must follow. Once the shady credit services opened their doors, the credit card companies closed theirs. In fact, it is now harder than ever to get credit card interest rates lowered. Credit counselors, not credit card users, are to blame for this situation.

It All Adds Up… To Even Higher Bills

Specific debt consolidation companies have specific guidelines as to what their clients are and are not allowed to do. For example, some companies do not allow you to open any new credit accounts under any circumstances. If the family car finally breaks down, you may not be allowed to get a new vehicle. The average debt reduction plan lasts at least three years — that equals at least three years of your life, where total strangers restrict your every expense.

Whether or not you can take out a new car loan may be the least of your concerns after hiring a credit-counseling agency. Consider how important it is to pay your credit card bills on time. Multiple late payments hurt your credit score, which means even higher interest rates on a future mortgage or student loan. What guarantee do you have that your counselor is paying attention to your due dates? Many of these businesses have been exposed for repeatedly paying bills months late. Their innocent clients never knew until it was too late.

Then there is the matter of simple math. Shockingly, the monthly payment you make to your credit counseling company may not even be covering your total minimum payments. After the counselors subtract their own hefty fees, they then pay your bills at their discretion. Some cards could remain unpaid for months as most of your money is put on another card.

At best, this means a lower credit rating and multiple late fees; at worst, it means legal action against you and worse credit than you had originally. It would have been faster, easier, and much cheaper to file bankruptcy instead.

Dealing with debt can be stressful, but turning such an important aspect of our lives over to people we do not know is a big risk. It’s great to get outside help, but not if it costs you hundreds or even thousands of dollars that would be better spent on paying off your current balances.

Your Own Article Directory: The road to easy money?

free  Comments Off on Your Own Article Directory: The road to easy money?

What or where is the road to easy money?

Maybe you have a rich uncle? Or maybe you know the winning numbers to the lottery? However, if you’re thinking an Article Directory is the way to go, you may be disappointed.

Why isn’t an Article directory the path to success?

With the search engines, content is “king” so more content should increase the chances of our website being included in the search engine results – Right?

Traditionally, making money from an Article Directory required that advertising of some sort, like Google’s AdSense, be added to each article’s page. Users would find the article via the search engines, read the article, and then click on the advertising link. The result is money earned from the user clicking on the ad. If we published more articles, then more people would click and we would make MORE money. Get the idea?

This normally would be sound thinking; however the thing about search engines that it is easy to forget is that they have very few slots open at the top of their search results. Getting to the top is not easy anymore, especially if you’re working in a competitive subject area. The amount of content on the internet continues to grow daily.

So what good then is an Article Directory?

I’d suggest that an Article Directory is one piece of developing a website worth visiting and “worthy” of the top search engine results. You need to have GOOD PRODUCTS and SERVICES to make any money. However, if you want your site to be around very long you also need information to keep your visitors.

For example: When I first started looking into establishing a home business, I knew almost nothing about one – other than the fact that there were a lot of scams and I needed to be careful before pulling out the credit card.

I did some research, and then finally selected a company that had been around for a while with products to sell along with an opportunity. My sponsor had his own website and one of the first things I did after signing up was to look thru his site for more information. I went thru various pages of his site reading everything I could and also clicking on… guess what… AdSense ads. (Google and their advertiser’s would probably have been happy as well as I was a “targeted clicker”).

The point of this example is that there are many WAYS TO MAKE MONEY on the internet – MAKE USE OF ALL OF THEM.

An article directory may very well help draw people to your site thru the search engines, depending on the content of the articles and many other factors. However, like many other site owners you may need to use multiple techniques to get visitors to your site. Along the same line of thinking you may need multiple ways of making money. Once you get visitors to your site you need to keep them there and keep them coming back for more and then to either spend money or generate money via advertising clicks.

Today, with online marketing there may no longer be any one “easy road” to success, but there are still lots of different techniques which together all contribute to success.

Your own article directory is one way to be successful.

Yahoo SEO in Few Steps

SEO is an acronym for “search engine optimization”. It is the process of analyzing your potential design and problems for search engines indexing and positioning. In other words, making your web site and its content attractive, relevant and visible to search engines and web searchers.

There is nothing worse than having a beautiful web site with excellent written content, though you still lose traffic or you even keep potential visitors away, while your site cannot be found.

Yahoo! is the second biggest of the three major engines and includes an enormous network of websites. The algorithm is based on that of Inktomi which Yahoo! purchased back in 2002

The Factors

There are Various factors to rank well in Search Engines. For Yahoo! here are main areas:

Keyword
Site structure
Backlinks
Aging

Keyword Density

Keywords help the search engines crawl and index the ranking of pages. But an overdose of Keywords can ruin your site ranking or even get you banned. Keywords are ignition fuel if used ever can fire up your ranking. Before you find a search Keyword understand what you want to searching for. For example you have a Motorbike website and you want to promote it. It wont be wise enough to promote your site using the keyword like Motorbike website. There are already tons of site using that Keyword. Try to be more specific about it. Like you can use Keyword which are closely related to your site (Honda, Yamaha, MotoGP, or anything of that sort). Keyword ranking changes each month so search for the new keywords on a regular base. Compare them with the top ten for further analysis. You can find out more and search about Keywords through these tools:

Site Structure

Yahoo! takes site structure seriously than any other search engine. Its not that Yahoo! is the only search Engine concerned with site structure but good site structure is important for a various of reasons. Considering http://www.yahoofanclub.com an example of the site structure work. It’s a phpBB forum and a Mod rewrite has been done using rewrite mod from http://www.able2know.com Before the Mod usage there were only a few pages index in Yahoo. But after the Mod implementation a significant number of page got indexed. This mod changes the .php and seesions ids to .html type, which helps in SE friendly pages. There are various reasons in site structure. Main reasons are like good Content and Lower coding level. Good Content means that occurs higher up in the code of your page (not necessarily in your browser) is given a higher weight than content lower down in the code. Second, a properly structured site will be lower in code through the use of CSS, reduced or eliminated table use, etc. The reduction in code will push the content higher up the page as far as a search engine is concerned and thus, it will be given more weight.

Backlinks

Backlinks are a solid backbone of every website that wants to rank well in Search Engines. Anchored Text also helps in backlinks. Anchor text can be anywhere like in the forums, on the websites, guestbooks. Backlink aspects counts when optimizing your website for Yahoo!:

Quality Link: Now what does a Quality link means ?? It means the position and ranking of the link. There are many sites which rank well in Yahoo. Its just that you’ll have to find some of them. How to find them ?? Search your Key Phrase in Yahoo and you’ll end up with many site. Try to find the site which perfectly matches your criteria. Links from a trusted domain name like .gov or .edu and also domain name which are old enough ( 3 to 4 years) with good backlinks in Search Engines surely help in Yahoo.

Link Position: Link position is an important aspect in search engines. Link with a long list of other lists wont get you much. That’s why Link exchange with individual sites weighs more than directory listing. I have heard people saying that a link in the footer is of lesser ranking than a Header link. But according to me its myth. A site wide link is what I say is better. Sitewide link exchange means to have a link on every page. For example in the footer of a forum.

Anchor text: The linkage text is known as the anchor text. For example Yahoo forum will promote the words Yahoo Forum. Search Engines differentiate anchor text from directory listing text. Directory Listing style is link with a description below itself.

Non-reciprocal or One-Way links: – One Way links have more advantage over the reciprocal links. A big list of one way links can improve the ranking on Yahoo!.

Age Factor

Age Factor is yet another factor that matters in Search Engine Ranking. With the new sites getting launched each day search engines crawling them out. But still these sites do not rank well in front of the old giants. This happens because Search Engines. Yahoo sometime takes a month or 2 before heavy crawling. But its not that new site should not expect anything. Yahoo is the friend of New sites. Yahoo updates its index regularly. And new sites get index (though not heavily) faster than google. So, we can say that older the domain name the better it helps in ranking. Its better to start with an old name than a new one. You can search old domains through http://www.sedo.com or http://whois.sc

Directory listing:
Directory submission is always helpful. It shows your backlinks in the Search Engines. Directory submissions never mean that you’ll earn traffic from there. It only helps in increase of backlinks. Here are fews links complied to form a big list of directories.

Some Helpful links:

Modern Art a Conspiracy Part 2

free  Comments Off on Modern Art a Conspiracy Part 2
May 202023

They have never been interested in others but for what they can get. The opportunity to study other cultures have presented it self severally but they were not up for it. They have written mind alteration books for their vision. It would have been ideal for them to introduce most of these books into their schools for knowledge, more researches and better appreciation of others. But hell no they were only interested in altering our mind set, artifacts and how much they can make from the unknown world.

My gratitude goes to our men and women, most of whom have lost their lives in saying the truth. Truth must prevail; I have realized danger of the silence conspiracy to erase anything African in the face of the earth. The fact that civilization of man started in African has disappeared from the pages of history books, even pyramids of Egypt to some people were built by aliens, It is too good to be African; if given a chance to recreate the map of Africa, Egypt and some part of South African will definitely be carved out of the map to serve their purpose.

There have been conflicting records of when Europeans came in contact with African Art. With due respect to our art historians who have made references to 1905 as the year of European first contact with African Art as widely documented. I beg to disagree. We should not forget the looting of Benin Art treasures. The Punitive Expedition of 1897 was a military excursion by a British force of 1,200 under Admiral Sir Harry Rawson that captured, burned, and looted the city of Benin, incidentally bringing to an end the highly sophisticated West African Kingdom of Benin.

Secondly, the Scramble for Africa (or the Rat Race for Africa) was the proliferation of conflicting European claims to African territory during the New Imperialism period, between the 1880s and the start of World War I. This era was more of art and treasures than territories. You are free to disagree. You can as well tell me of any other continent; that has suffered massive global extortion and exploitation of arts and culture. A visit to museums around the world will shade more light on this.

The earliest documented entry of a piece of African art into a European collection occurred around 1470, with a work that a Portuguese collector acquired from the kingdom of Kongo.

Please permit me to introduce the so called founder of cubism and modern art, Picasso and his rivalry and partner in plagiarism Matisse, who were first European avant-garde artist collectors of African Art. His full name was Pablo (or Pablito) Diego Jose Santiago Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Crispin Crispiniano de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santisima Trinidad Ruiz Blasco y Picasso Lopez. We know him today as simply Picasso.

Pablo was born to father, who was also an artist, known as José Ruiz y Blasco; his mother was Maria Picasso y Lopez. His earliest paintings were signed Pablo Ruiz after his father, but around 1901 he started using his mother’s name, Picasso. He studied graphics in Spain and graduated in 1900.

Pablo was among the long list of bored minds, whose art of imitation and copying couldn’t sustain. He found himself in a nasty dance of poverty and isolation because no artist would want to risk their creations with a copy artist like Picasso. Shortly after graduation He moved to France 1901 where he quickly laid his hands on African art works. In his words I do not seek. I find. You can imagine the innocent creations of African masters in the hands of a man who had copied art most of youthful age. Pablo believed that Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.

Modern art is simply a conspiracy child of racism and imperialism. The so-called founder had these to say. Today, as you know, I am famous and very rich. But when completely alone with myself, I haven’t the nerve to consider myself an artist in the great and ancient sense of the word. There have been great painters like Giotto, Titian, Rembrandt and Goya. I am only a public entertainer who has understood his time. What was his time? It was said the confession is good for the soul.

In the part 1 of this article I mentioned the conspiracy of European avant-garde artists, art collectors, art critics, art historians and imperialist to create away out of their creative drought using African Art as escape goat. The artistic elite was mainly concerned with the rejection of academic tradition. African art became a source of inspiration for these artists who were searching for systems of representation other than naturalism and illusionism. The critic front-runner of this group was the French art critic Louis Vauxcelles who coined the term Cubism after seeing the landscapes Braque had painted in 1908 at L’Estaque in emulation of Cézanne. Vauxcelles called the geometric forms in the highly abstracted works “cubes.”

Louis Vauxcelles (1870-?) was an influential French art critic. To him are attributed the terms Fauvism (1905), and cubism. Vauxcelles coined the phrase ‘les fauves’ (translated as ‘wild beasts’) to describe a circle of painters associated with Matisse as well as the audiences who criticised them (he couldn’t decide which were more arrogant). But an artist can demonstrate zero proof of his artistic ability in the context of established representative visual art, yet he could end up as a master of modern art? Tell me you smell something funny about this too.

The Cubist painters rejected their inherited concept that art should copy nature, or that they should adopt the traditional techniques of perspective, modeling, and foreshortening. They wanted instead to emphasize the two-dimensionality of the canvas. So they reduced and fractured objects into geometric forms, and then realigned these within a shallow, reliefs like space. They also used multiple or contrasting vantage points.

Louis Vauxcelles and his group were not interested in professionalism but escapism and name calling for the propagation of their supremacy vision. Pablo had them all fooled; the agony is that many are still fooled till date. I guest because of their common denominator of hate and racist drive, none really cared about the long time effect of their deceit.

In the words of Pablo the founder of your modern art; an artist must know how to convince others of the truth of his lies. The people who make art their business are mostly imposters. There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality. How naïve can you be, the man who had over 100 African art in his collection, copied and made money of them do not believe in abstraction.

Lets look into more facts in the part 3 coming soon.

The Theory of Viral Marketing via Videos and Websites

free  Comments Off on The Theory of Viral Marketing via Videos and Websites
May 182023

Introduction and Background

Viral marketing is the holy grail of marketing. The goal of any successful marketing campaign is to generate buzz and awareness about the product or service being offered. If done correctly, the campaign will generate expansive reach, strong brand-building, strong sales, all at a relatively low production and distribution cost.

Viral marketing can occur through many mediums, but the Internet is currently the reigning champion. Cheap resources (always-on internet access), efficiency in building contact networks (email, messengers, blogs, websites, etc.), and an abundance of new content (think Youtube.com) means that there is always something interesting and easy to share. Videos and websites are probably the most effective internet platforms for internet viral marketing.

The caveat of viral marketing is that since you are leveraging other people’s resources (their time and effort, their email lists, etc.), they will be on the lookout for signs of commercialism. A person will not spread a company’s message because there is no benefit for him. He actually suffers because he is losing credibility among friends. On the other hand, if the same person told his friends to give to an orphanage or other charity, he will be well received and appear magnanimous.

So assuming that your target viral marketer ? the person who sees your ad and must spread the advertisement to his acquaintances ? falls somewhere in between the extremes of shamelessly plugging a company and expounding upon the virtues of charity, you must balance the inherent commercialism with his desire to spread your message. You must produce something so interesting and compelling that your target marketer has no choice but to share it, marketing message payload and all.

So here is where we strike upon the most difficult challenge of creating a successful viral marketing campaign ? finding the balance of creativity and uniqueness while not diminishing the purpose of your marketing in the first place. The challenge is stiff: too commercial and it will not spread beyond the first marketer, too radical and your brand image may no longer match the content of the advertisement. However, do not despair. It has been done with impressive success, and as long as there is an audience of willing consumers, many more impressively successful campaigns will manifest.

Examples of Successful Commercial Viral Videos

The Superbowl is the largest television event in America. Every year, 40 percent of America households, or approximately 80-90 million Americans, are tuned into the Superbowl at some time. The 30 second Superbowl commercial, the most revered spot in American broadcasting, sold for a reported $2.5 million in the 2006 Superbowl.

With viral marketing, the same level audience can be reached, but at a fraction of the cost. The best viral marketing is not blasted at once to a large audience, but once seeded to a few individuals, will grow until many millions of people will have heard of it. Importantly, these people are not just receiving a television broadcast, but they are telling their friends about it, discussing it, joking about it, and making a mental impression of it. One person who tells others about a video he saw is more valuable than 10 who see your video and forget about it.

One successful viral video shows 2 men dressed in lab coats demonstrating the befuddling Diet Coke and Mentos chemical reaction. Apparently, if you drop Mentos breath mints into Diet Coke, it creates a reaction akin to mixing baking soda and vinegar. Many videos were produced, but this particular video was probably the best produced, including a musically choreographed demonstration of over 100 Diet Coke and Mentos fountains. After being featured on CNN, it was revealed that the video’s creators had already made several tens of thousands of dollars selling the advertisements at the beginning and end of the video.

The Diet Coke video is an example of how viral videos can make money. But a company that wishes to get exposure needs a different approach. One way is for the company to sponsor the creation of a new video (or the sequel of a previously popular video), and then intersperse the company’s logo and website throughout the video. A good example of this is Stride gum’s commission of “Where the Hell is Matt” ? a video that shows Matt dancing for a few seconds at dozens of places around the world, all set to funny music. The video is novel and ridiculous at the same time ? just how many airports, customs, and taxis did Matt and his crew have to go through just to shoot a few seconds of Matt’s dancing? Anyways, the video took off, and Stride cannot be disappointed with their return on investment.

However, the Matt video still only straddles the line of balancing commercialism and content. The perfect video would both integrate the company’s product with content so compelling that the commercial aspect is no longer a concern. To remove the commercial aspect would destroy the very fabric of the commercial. Below, I have included the links of 2 successfully circulated videos, one for Coca-Cola and one for Carlton Draught. These ads are classics of viral marketing because of their power, their persuasiveness, and elegance in weaving together commercialism and content.

A Case Study for Successful Web Marketing

Viral videos excite on a visual and auditory level, but have limitations in spreading your company’s message. Unless you are making a branding video, and can pull of something like Coke or Carlton Draught, the user may not even know what your company does unless he goes to your website or otherwise tries your product. A website can be a successful viral platform that not only generates visitors, but can also deliver your company’s message. In this case study, we will look at a service called AdCubes that combines all the elements of successful viral web marketing.

The first element that of a successful viral website is to have an idea that is at once unique and creative. The website must offer something the visitor and the visitor’s friends will need. In the case of the AdCubes, the product is mundane ? it is an advertisement that is sold to anybody who wishes to purchase it. However, the concept is unique. Each ad cube costs $1 more than the previous one. As more and more people visit the site, the ads become more valuable, and the price is naturally driven up by purchases made by the same visitors.

The payoff for buying an ad is huge ? the person who purchased the first ad for $1 has received hundreds of clicks for his investment. As the value of the ads increase, people will return to the site often, morbidly curious how much advertisers would pay for the same cube that others have purchased for less. Will the price top out at $100 per cube? Or will it be nearer $100,000?

The beauty of this system is that it is self-reinforcing. People will come and buy ads, and tell their friends about the site. As more and more buzz builds, traffic increases, advertisers increase, and the price of the ads increases. The increasing price drives more buzz, and eventually will garner media attention. Then when buzz is peaking, the price of ads will peak as well, driving higher and higher interest in the concept. In the end, the payoff to the site’s owners could be millions of dollars. The payoff to advertisers could be millions of impressions and thousands of clicks. The payoff to visitors would be to witness a web phenomenon in action.

Of course, there is a lot of seeding that must be done before a site can successfully become a viral property. However, once the seeding process begins, a well-planned site will grow closer and closer each day toward critical mass. Once the critical mass is satisfied, then the site truly becomes viral, growing more and more popular without any input from the creators. This process can be facilitated by improving distribution channels. In the case of AdCubes, a links page allows webmasters and blogs to easily post about the site. Each sales confirmation email also contains a request for the advertiser to tell his acquaintances about his new AdCube.

There are many approaches to making a successful viral web site, but the basics are the same. You must have compelling content, it must be accessible for free or at low cost, and it must be easy to transmit. Once the basics are in place, the only thing left is seeding the first visitors until you reach the critical mass.
